At Hi-Tech Medical, we develop helix-reinforced, smooth-interior medical hoses for the world’s leading OEMs. One of our most successful applications has been in creating custom ventilator hoses to fit into a circuit assembly. We offer three hoses for ventilator applications, which include our 777, 888, and 999 medical hoses. Their difference starts with the material, durability, wall thickness, and purpose. In the following article, we discuss the breakdown between the materials and the end goal of these three hoses.
The material is the most important part of creating your custom hose. Our offerings include Metallocene Polyethylene (mPE), Hytrel, and Ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA). The choices of the material stem from your need for reusability and durability. Hytrel is our most durable material which boasts the ability to be autoclavable. Due to this, our 888 can be reused for multiple patients. However, many OEMs are searching for a disposable single-patient hose. Our 777, made with Metallocene Polyethylene, is our best option due to its lightweight and soft density. The mPE is also economical when compared to more durable options. Our 999, made from EVA, is also a single-patient hose. While very similar to the 777, OEMs can prefer either mPE or EVA.
However, at Hi-Tech Medical, we understand the no two projects are alike. That’s why we closely collaborate with every customer to truly understand their unique challenges. From concept to completion, the experienced team here provides comprehensive project support to deliver the ideal final product.
